July Pt 2

Selamat Idul Fitri!

Happy Eid Mubarak!


Whew! A lot has happened since I last updated!
For starters, Indonesia has a new President & Vice-President now: Joko Widodo & Jusuf Kalla respectively!
We look forward to them leading us for the next 5 years!
Now there's no longer Number 1 or Number 2 (presidential pairing number), it's Salam 3 Jari!
I sense good things ahead of us

And again, Happy Eid Mubarak! Man I miss the celebrations back in Indonesia. 
I'm not Muslim myself, but I do have Muslim relatives (& neighbors of course), so usually we'd play on the street in front of our houses, ride bikes, play games, fire sparklers!
And also we'd have dinner together...
Gosh I miss those days.

I've been doing fairly well in polytechnic. Better than I've ever expected myself to.
Maths for CG is challenging, but the fun part is always when I see the objects get animated & stuff- Mathematics became magical. For the last 2 weeks we've been dealing with rendering & materials- I went crazy when I saw my rendered glass so sparkly (We're using Houdini).
We also have Digital Photography & I've experienced using DSLRs. They're pretty darn heavy, but they make good pictures. 
Classes are a lot of fun too. I'm actually more willing to move forward to present than I was a few years ago. 
I also interact better with people...

I get asked plenty of times why I'm in Digital Visual Effects instead of Animation.
Well I'm not even sure why, but Animation just didn't take me in.
But that's okay. Visual Effects is really cool & I'm still drawing!
In fact I can still draw for myself instead for assignments.
So yea, I'm pretty happy here, with no intention of moving out.

We also JUST had a test for Maths for CG.
We were only allowed to refer to old notes or works, no internet.
And OHMYGOD I can't believe I actually did it!
It hasn't been marked yet, but I was super proud of what I've made!

I also joined a singing club, SoundCard.
I met loads of awesome people there.
I even fell for someone, but I'm not sure if it'll work out. So far it's just... afloat..
But I guess it's just a passing thing? I don't even think he sees me the same way.
Right now I'm just happy singing with people.

The 1st semester will be over in 2 weeks! Hurrah!
Maybe I'll ACTUALLY post stuff this time.

AAAAAAAAND HERE COMES AUGUST!!!
I can't wait for Carp Week! My 1st Carp Week! Not gonna miss it this time!
And Indonesia's Independence Day!!! GOSH I'm gonna wear my Batik top from Wednesday!
Can't wait!
